who is giorgio sortino?
Chef and entrepreneur Giorgio Sortino was born in Ispica into a family of bakers, where the smell of bread became the first step on a journey of skill and passion. With La Bella Lira, he revolutionized pizza in the area, introducing long-ripened dough and showcasing local and seasonal ingredients.
His hotel training and experience in the best pizzerias in the Canary Islands, Sardinia, Dubai, Kuwait, and Scotland have given him an open and contemporary gastronomic vision, deeply rooted in Sicily.
Today, he leads a project that combines cuisine, hospitality, and social responsibility. For years, he has conducted training programs in correctional facilities, offering real opportunities for reintegration. A certified instructor, he trained with masters such as Gabriele Bonci, Vincenzo Capuano, and Simona Lauri, putting his skills to work for the new generation of pizza makers.
